Newly found free time...spent wisely?

Now that my summertime is about to officially begin (once college tutorials are out of the way) I'm going to have a LARGE amount of free time on my hands which will have to be used creatively at least some of the time. So I thought it was probably about time to pull out my copy of Cath Kidston's 'make it' book. That's bound to keep me creative. So, once I get myself some pretty pretty fabrics I'm going to be snipping, sewing and sticking to my hearts content. If things are pretty enough, I'm sure I'll let you see them.

Hello blogging world!

It's summer time, and the weather's mighty fine. So fine, in fact, that it's inspired me to get all deep and thoughtful about where my life's heading and my future as an artist/designer.
SO, I thought that blog would be an excellent way of logging what I'm doing, my inspirations and such and such.

Here's a little about me...

I've just finished my Art Foundation Degree. I'm currently awaiting to hear my result! All will be revealed on Tuesday. Scary!
Next Autumn I'm going to Birmingham City University, where I will be studying Jewellery and Silversmithing (BA). I'm very excited. Slightly worried too. The usual ... 'what if it's not right for me?' blubber...but, fingers crossed, it'll be perfect :)

Pretty soon I'll start uploading pictures of recent work of mine, and other things that I like.

BUT, that's all for now.

Take a Chill Pill

For my Final Major Project I chose the theme of an Apothecary to relate my work to. I called the Project 'Message In A Bottle'. The intention of my work was to make a usually boring and inanimate object a subject of interest through incorporation of text and close observational study.
These are some of my favourite pieces that I made during the project. They're ceramic tablets of different shapes and sizes. I stamped into them with metal letter and number stamps and they say things like 'cough' and 'pill', all related to illness and other medical terminology.
I'm hoping to get some more pictures up of my Foundation and A-Level work, but I'm a new blogger..so bare with me.
